SARIKEI – Sarikei Member of Parliament and Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, Dato’ Sri Pham Chang Sek, reaffirmed his commitment to education development by presenting a special grant to Tung Hwa National-Type Chinese Secondary and Primary Schools in Bintangor during a meeting with the school’s Board of Directors on Thursday.
The delegation, led by Board Chairman Su Song Chuong, paid a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening cooperation between the school management and elected representatives to further enhance the quality of education in the region.
During the visit, Dato’ Sri Pham, who also serves as Legislative Councillor for Lubok, handed over a special grant under the Rural Mini-Development Project (MRP) to assist with the schools’ operational expenses and support educational programmes.
Easing Students’ Burden with School Essentials
In addition to the grant, Dato’ Sri Pham contributed school uniforms, shoes, and bags to students of both Tung Hwa Primary and Secondary Schools. The gesture is intended to ease the financial burden of families while motivating students to remain focused on their education.
“This annual support ensures students are not left behind due to economic difficulties and helps strengthen the educational foundation in rural areas like Bintangor,” said Pham.

The Tung Hwa Board of Directors expressed their gratitude to Dato’ Sri Pham for his unwavering support, stating that the aid reflects the government’s continued concern for rural education development.
“We hope this partnership continues and brings lasting progress to the education sector in Bintangor for the benefit of future generations,” said Su Song Chuong.
