KUCHING – Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) has launched the Eagle OSH Eye Application as part of its Occupational Safety and Health Week (OSH Week) 2026 celebrations, marking a new step in strengthening workplace safety culture.
The application is designed as a proactive hazard reporting system, enabling employees to detect unsafe behaviours, hazardous environments, and good practices more quickly and systematically.
Using QR code scanning, the app allows continuous monitoring and reporting, reflecting DBKU’s innovative approach to risk prevention and collective responsibility.
The acting director of DBKU, Ts Mohamad Faisal Adenan, officiated the ceremony, highlighting the organisation’s commitment to embedding safety and health awareness across all levels of the workforce.
He stressed that occupational safety is a shared responsibility, requiring active involvement from every employee in identifying risks and implementing preventive measures.
The launch of the Eagle OSH Eye App aligns with the global theme of OSH Week 2026, “Good Psychosocial Working Environments: A Pathway to Thriving Workers and Strong Organisations”.
DBKU emphasised that creating a safe and healthy workplace is essential not only for employee wellbeing but also for organisational resilience and productivity.
In addition to the app launch, OSH Week featured a range of activities to raise awareness and encourage participation.
These included blood donation campaigns, safety briefings, exhibitions on occupational safety and personal protective equipment (PPE), aerobics sessions, slingshot and chess competitions, and the 1,000 Steps OSH Fun Walk.
DBKU noted that the initiative reflects its continuous efforts to ensure every task is carried out in a safe, healthy, and conducive environment.
By integrating digital tools with community-driven activities, the organisation aims to foster a stronger safety culture and set a benchmark for workplace health practices in Sarawak.
