East Kalimantan Governor’s Visit Adds Spark to Borneo Games Kuching 2025

East Kalimantan Governor’s Visit Adds Spark to Borneo Games Kuching 2025

KUCHING – The arrival of the Governor of East Kalimantan, Dr H. Rudi Mas’ud, has further enlivened the Borneo Games Kuching (BGK) 2025, currently being held from 24 to 28 September.

Dr Rudi landed safely at Kuching International Airport at 6.50pm on Thursday, beginning a three-day special visit to Sarawak.

He was received by representatives of the Sarawak government and senior officials before heading to his hotel in the city.

The visit coincides with the BGK 2025 sporting events, which bring together athletes and delegations from across Borneo.

His programme also includes participation in the VIP golf category tomorrow, to be held at the Sarawak Golf Club.

The event will also feature Sarawak’s Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

Dr Rudi’s presence is seen as strengthening ties between Sarawak and East Kalimantan, especially as the Indonesian province prepares for the relocation of Indonesia’s new capital, Nusantara, in the coming years. The Governor is expected to return to East Kalimantan this Sunday.
