Emergency Response Teams Help Clear Fallen Tree Blocking Road in Kapit

KAPIT – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Kapit District responded promptly to a fallen tree incident near Bank Rakyat Kapit on 20 May 2026, ensuring traffic flow was restored and public safety maintained.

At approximately 9.56 pm, APM received a complaint from the public reporting that a tree had collapsed and was obstructing the road.

Within minutes, four APM members were deployed to the scene with an operational vehicle to carry out clearing and monitoring work.

Upon arrival, officers confirmed that the tree was blocking traffic and immediately began cutting and removing it using specialised equipment. Their swift action ensured that the road was cleared safely and reopened for use.

The operation concluded at 10.40 pm, with the situation declared under control. Authorities confirmed that no casualties were reported during the incident.

The response involved close cooperation between several agencies. The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) deployed four members; the Fire and Rescue Department contributed eight personnel, while APM and RELA each mobilised four members.
