Also present at the programme was Batu Kitang assemblyman, YB Dato Ir Lo Khere Chiang, who joined the villagers to show his support for the initiative. He commended the committee and all participants for their dedication in making the project a success.

“This effort is very meaningful as it provides a safe and better football field for our youth. At the same time, it reflects the strong spirit of unity and cooperation among the residents of Kampung Paya Mebi,” he said.

The gotong-royong programme is part of the committee’s continuous effort to improve public facilities and encourage healthy lifestyles among villagers. The football field, often used by young people for training and friendly matches, has long been a central gathering point for the community.

Residents who took part expressed their satisfaction and pride in working together for a common cause. Many highlighted that community-based initiatives like this not only solve local issues but also keep traditions alive, where neighbours come together to help each other.

The Kampung Paya Mebi Saberkas Committee said more similar programmes will be planned in the future to maintain public facilities and promote community spirit.

Such initiatives serve as a reminder that the spirit of gotong-royong remains an important part of Malaysian culture, ensuring that values of cooperation and togetherness continue to benefit the community.
