Families Reunite as GSF Volunteers Return Safely to KLIA

SEPANG — The Emirates aircraft carrying 27 Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) volunteers, including several Malaysian public figures, landed safely at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 late tonight.

According to Flight Radar 24 data, the flight departed earlier at 11.14am local time and touched down at KLIA at approximately 10.07pm.

It is understood that the volunteers are currently in the waiting area before being escorted to the arrival hall to reunite with their families. A press conference is expected to follow soon after their arrival.

Out of the 27 volunteers, 23 were reportedly detained by Israeli forces after their humanitarian vessel was intercepted while nearing Gaza waters.

Among those detained were Heliza Helmi, Nur Hazwani Afiqah, Nurfarahin Romli (Farah Lee), Zizi Kirana, Danish Nazran Murad, and Ardell Aryana—all of whom had volunteered for the humanitarian mission to deliver aid to Gaza.

Other detained activists include PU Rahmat, Musa Nuwayri, Haikal Abdullah, Muaz Zainal, Iylia Balqis, Sul Aidil, Zulfadhli Khiruddin, Rusydi Ramli, Razali Awang, Norhelmi Ab Ghani, Mohd Asmawi Mukhtar, Norazman Ishak, Zainal Rashid, Ustaz Muhammad Abdullah, Muhammad Hareez Adzrami (Haroqs), Muhd Haikal Luqman Zulkefli, and Taufiq Mohd Razif.

Meanwhile, four other Malaysian activists who were aboard the observation ship Summertime-Jong—which did not enter the designated Red Zone—are confirmed safe. Their vessel had successfully docked at Paphos Port, Cyprus.

They are identified as Muhammad Nadir Al-Nuri Kamaruzaman, Mazian Seman, Serieffa Mushtafa Albakry, and Ariff Budiman.

Family members and supporters had gathered at KLIA to welcome the returning volunteers, many waving flags and holding banners expressing solidarity and gratitude for their safe return. The atmosphere at the terminal was emotional yet filled with relief as the volunteers finally set foot on home soil after their tense ordeal abroad.

The Global Sumud Flotilla mission was aimed at delivering essential humanitarian aid and showing international solidarity with Palestinians affected by the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
