KUCHING – The Kuching Division’s Healthy Malaysia National Agenda (ANMS) Tour Series programme attracted around 500 participants during a lively event at Kuching Waterfront on Sunday, 19 April 2026.
The initiative was held in conjunction with the Kuching Car Free Morning, further promoting the culture of healthy living among the local community.
The combination of both programmes created a vibrant atmosphere, encouraging residents to embrace active lifestyles while enjoying the scenic waterfront.
Yang Berbahagia Dato Haji Hilmy bin Haji Othman, Mayor of Kuching North, officiated the Flag Off ANMS & Muaythai 2026 Heritage Fun Walk.
He represented the Deputy Premier of Sarawak and Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government, YB Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian.
Following the flag-off, Dato Haji Hilmy visited exhibition booths set up along the waterfront, engaging with participants and agencies involved in the programme.
The booths showcased health-related information and activities, reinforcing the importance of wellness education and community participation.
The event highlighted Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Utara’s (DBKU) commitment to supporting health-based programmes in line with efforts to strengthen community wellbeing.
Officials emphasised that such initiatives are crucial in encouraging city residents to adopt healthier practices and maintain active lifestyles.
The ANMS Tour Series is part of a nationwide campaign aimed at promoting preventive healthcare and raising awareness about the importance of balanced living.
By integrating the programme with Kuching’s Car Free Morning, organisers sought to maximise public engagement and create a festive yet purposeful environment.
