The event, which began at 6.30 pm, was organised to mark Easter while also raising funds to support the church’s ongoing activities and community outreach programmes.

The dinner provided an opportunity for members of the congregation and wider community to gather in fellowship, reflecting the church’s role as a centre of faith and service in Lambir.

Miri City Council Mayor Adam Yii, who is also the assemblyman for N.74 Pujut, attended the occasion. His presence underscored the importance of community engagement and the role of local leadership in supporting religious and social initiatives.

The fundraising dinner highlighted the church’s commitment to strengthening ties within the community, with proceeds directed towards projects that benefit both parishioners and residents in the surrounding areas.

The event also reflected the broader tradition of Easter celebrations, which emphasise renewal, gratitude, and compassion.

Guests were treated to a programme that combined thanksgiving with fundraising activities, reinforcing the dual purpose of the evening.

The church leadership expressed appreciation for the support received from attendees, noting that such events are vital in sustaining the church’s mission and outreach.

The Holy Trinity Anglican Church has long been active in Lambir, contributing to both spiritual life and social development.

Its annual Easter dinner has become a fixture in the local calendar, drawing participation from across Miri and beyond.

The evening also carried a message of unity, with themes such as “Together for a Better Pujut” and “Together We Build a Better Miri” resonating throughout the event.

These slogans reflect the shared aspiration of community members to work collectively towards progress and harmony.

The gathering at the Mega Hotel demonstrated how religious institutions continue to play a significant role in fostering community spirit while also addressing practical needs through fundraising and charitable work.

With strong participation and support, the Easter Thanksgiving and fundraising dinner reaffirmed the church’s place as a catalyst for positive change in Miri.
