LUBOK ANTU – Police in Lubok Antu have taken two men into custody following separate operations along Jalan Lubok Antu on 25 April 2026.
The suspects, aged 28 and 41, were apprehended by officers from the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division of the Lubok Antu District Police Headquarters.
Authorities confirmed that both individuals were detained on suspicion of drug abuse. Initial screening carried out by the police revealed that the men tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
Investigators have since opened a case under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which addresses offences related to drug consumption.
The arrests were part of ongoing enforcement efforts aimed at curbing the spread of narcotics in rural districts.
Lubok Antu police have been conducting targeted operations in recent months, focusing on areas where drug-related activities are suspected to be more prevalent.
Officers emphasised that these measures are intended to safeguard communities and reduce the risks associated with substance abuse.
Drug abuse remains a pressing concern across Sarawak, with law enforcement agencies frequently reporting arrests in both urban and rural settings.
