Israeli Strikes in Gaza Kill 83 in 24 Hours (25 September)

GAZA CITY – Israeli military operations in Gaza have resulted in the deaths of at least 83 Palestinians over the past 24 hours, according to reports from Gaza’s Health Ministry.

The strikes have targeted central and southern regions of Gaza, including areas where Palestinians had been instructed to flee.

In one incident, a house and a tent in the central town of Zawaida were hit by an Israeli strike early Thursday morning, resulting in the deaths of 12 Palestinians, including a couple and their five children.

Another strike in Deir al-Balah killed a young girl and injured several others. In Khan Younis, a southern city, a flat building was struck, killing a man, his pregnant wife, their 10-year-old child, and another female relative.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have been intensifying their offensive in Gaza City, with the stated objective of clearing the area of its Palestinian population and demolishing buildings.

Despite warnings for Palestinians to evacuate to the south, attacks have continued in those regions, leading to significant civilian casualties.

Since the conflict escalated on October 7, 2023, the Health Ministry in Gaza reports that the death toll has reached 65,502, with an additional 167,376 individuals wounded. Experts suggest that these figures may be underreported.

Amidst the ongoing violence, discussions of a potential ceasefire have emerged, but there is no indication that the United States, which continues to provide military aid to Israel, is applying pressure to halt the offensive. Recently, President Trump approved a $6 billion arms deal to support Israel’s military efforts.

The situation remains critical as thousands of Palestinians remain in Gaza City, facing relentless attacks and a growing humanitarian crisis.
