Jempol District Police Chief, Superintendent Norhisham Mustapar, said the crash involved a Proton Persona, a Honda City, and a Perodua Viva. “Preliminary investigations indicate that the Proton Persona, driven by a 39-year-old man from Bahau to Rompin, lost control and crossed into the opposite lane,” he explained.

The out-of-control Proton Persona first collided with a Honda City traveling in the opposite direction, before striking the Perodua Viva head-on. The impact caused the Proton Persona to catch fire.

Tragically, the 32-year-old driver of the Perodua Viva sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Proton Persona suffered minor injuries, while the Honda City driver was uninjured.

“The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving,” Superintendent Norhisham added.
