KUCHING – The Human Resources Management Division of the Immigration Department Malaysia (JIM) Sarawak organised a two-day Excellent Counter Service Course from 8 to 9 April 2026 at the Sarawak Islamic Information Centre (IIC), Kuching.
A total of 30 immigration officers, ranging from grade KP1 to KP3, participated in the programme. The officers came from divisions and offices across Sarawak, from Kuching to Lawas.
The course was conducted by guest speaker Tuan Mohamad Yazid bin Yahya from the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) Sarawak.
The training aimed to enhance officers’ skills in delivering excellent counter service to the public. Key areas of focus included effective communication, customer complaint management, professional image, and personal skills.
These elements are part of broader efforts to strengthen the quality of public service delivery and ensure that frontline officers meet community expectations.
The closing ceremony was officiated by Mrs Goh Lee Hun, Deputy Head of the Management Services Division, representing JIM Sarawak’s top management. Souvenirs were presented to the speakers as a token of appreciation.
Organisers expressed hope that the programme will produce officers who are more competent, disciplined, and competitive, with integrity at the core of their service.
By investing in training, JIM Sarawak aims to build a professional workforce capable of delivering the best services to the community.
