SEPANG – The Regent Sultan of Johor, HRH Tunku Mahkota Ismail, attended the 2025–2026 Asian Le Mans Series (ALMS) race at the Sepang International Circuit on Saturday, showing strong support for Johor’s motorsports ambitions.
Accompanying him were HRH Che’ Puan Mahkota Khaleeda of Johor, HRH Tunku Tun Aminah Binti Sultan Ibrahim, and her husband Dato’ Dennis Muhammad Abdullah.
The royal family gathered to cheer for Johor’s younger princes, HRH Tunku Abdul Rahman Al-Haj Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Tunku Panglima Johor, and HRH Tunku Abu Bakar Al-Haj Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Tunku Putera Johor, who were competing in the prestigious endurance race.
Meanwhile, His Royal Highness the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim followed the event remotely, watching the race via a digital device, reflecting his continued interest in motorsports and his sons’ participation.
Johor Motorsports Racing (JMR) entered the series with two Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R machines, fielding a six-driver line-up.
YAM Tunku Abdul Rahman teamed up with Jordan Love and Ben Green, while YAM Tunku Abu Bakar raced alongside Alexander Sims and Yasser Shahim.
The presence of Johor’s royal family at Sepang underscores their longstanding passion for motorsports and their commitment to nurturing Johor’s representation in international racing.
The ALMS, known for its endurance format and competitive field, provides a platform for Johor’s young princes to showcase their skills on the global stage.
