BINTULU – The Road Transport Department (JPJ) Bintulu Branch Operations Unit carried out Ops Patuh on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, through patrols and monitoring around Bintulu town. The operation was aimed at ensuring road users comply with transport laws and regulations.
During the enforcement exercise, a total of 91 vehicles, both commercial and private, were inspected. Officers detected several violations, including drivers without valid licences, vehicles operating without the required Goods Driving Licence (GDL), expired Motor Vehicle Licences (LKM), and the carriage of dangerous loads. Technical offences relating to vehicle safety standards were also identified.
JPJ Sarawak stressed that every breach of the law is taken seriously, particularly those involving commercial vehicles, as such violations can pose significant risks to other road users.
The department highlighted that unsafe practices in the transport sector not only endanger drivers but also compromise public safety.
Officials reiterated that enforcement operations will continue to be strengthened to maintain high safety standards on Sarawak’s roads.
Regular monitoring and patrols are part of JPJ’s wider strategy to reduce accidents and ensure compliance with national regulations.

By targeting both private and commercial vehicles, the department aims to foster a culture of responsibility among all road users.
