BINTULU – The Road Transport Department (JPJ) Bintulu Branch Operations Unit carried out Ops Patuh on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, through patrols and monitoring around Bintulu town. The operation was aimed at ensuring road users comply with transport laws and regulations.
During the enforcement exercise, a total of 91 vehicles, both commercial and private, were inspected. Officers detected several violations, including drivers without valid licences, vehicles operating without the required Goods Driving Licence (GDL), expired Motor Vehicle Licences (LKM), and the carriage of dangerous loads. Technical offences relating to vehicle safety standards were also identified.
JPJ Sarawak stressed that every breach of the law is taken seriously, particularly those involving commercial vehicles, as such violations can pose significant risks to other road users.
The department highlighted that unsafe practices in the transport sector not only endanger drivers but also compromise public safety.
Officials reiterated that enforcement operations will continue to be strengthened to maintain high safety standards on Sarawak’s roads.
Regular monitoring and patrols are part of JPJ’s wider strategy to reduce accidents and ensure compliance with national regulations.
Ops Patuh reflects JPJ’s commitment to upholding integrity and accountability in road transport management.
By targeting both private and commercial vehicles, the department aims to foster a culture of responsibility among all road users.
The operation also serves as a reminder to the public to ensure that their licences, insurance, and vehicle documents are valid before travelling.
JPJ has urged drivers to prioritise safety and compliance, noting that negligence can lead to enforcement action and potential hazards on the road.
JPJ Sarawak confirmed that similar enforcement initiatives will continue across the state, reinforcing its mission to safeguard communities and promote responsible driving behaviour.
