JPJ Miri Strengthens Ties with IRB Through Courtesy Visit

MIRI – A courtesy visit to the Miri Branch of Road Transport Department (JPJ), Miri Division, by the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) was held at about 11:00 am on 5 February 2026, to foster closer ties among government departments.

The delegation, headed by Mr Bosco Martin, a senior LHDN official, was welcomed by the Head of the JPJ Miri Branch, Mr Yusuf bin Andan, and other officials. The visit symbolises the determination of both ministries to further cooperation and better serve society.

During the session, a short briefing was conducted by LHDN pertaining to MyTax / e-Filing, Employer Responsibilities and E-PCB Plus. The briefing gave the JPJ staff a better perspective on tax comprehensiveness management and employer compliance, including using the LHDN digital system.

The briefing aims to enhance the understanding of JPJ’s staff on their obligations as employers and encourage them to use electronic platforms for better and efficient tax compliance activities. Officials added that one such measure is important to bring in transparency and accountability and also to make compliance easier.

JPJ Miri thanked LHDN Miri Division for their effort in organising the informative session, noting that it was a good sharing of information. The department added that cooperation between JPJ and LHDN would ensure better public service, which is good for the people in Sarawak.

The courtesy visit also emphasised the necessity of interagency collaboration to overcome administrative obstacles and enhance effectiveness. Born between JPJ and LHDN is the spirit to cooperate for the purpose of streamlining processes, improving staff capability and thus serving the people better.

The move is in line with the efforts of Sarawak government agencies to foster collaboration, encourage digital transformation and ensure the public sector keeps pace with societal needs.
