JPJ Sarawak Boosts Road Safety for Aidilfitri Travel Rush

Kuching, 27 March 2025 (Thursday) – In preparation for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations, JPJ Sarawak has intensified its Road Safety Enforcement and Advocacy Program to ensure safer journeys for all road users. The initiative, led by YBrs. Tuan Norizan Jili, Director of JPJ Sarawak, took place at Kuching Sentral Bus Terminal, where enforcement officers inspected buses and engaged with passengers to raise awareness on road safety.

This strategic enforcement effort is part of Ops Hari Raya Aidilfitri (HRA), a nationwide campaign running from 24 March to 8 April 2025. The primary goal is to enhance road safety, reduce accidents, and ensure smoother traffic flow during the festive period.

JPJ Officers on High Alert

To strengthen enforcement, JPJ Sarawak has frozen all leave for its enforcement officers throughout the campaign. This demonstrates their commitment to ensuring road safety and taking strict action against traffic violators.

Collaboration with Key Agencies

The enforcement operation at Kuching Sentral was also attended by:
Mrs. Cornelia Wong, Director of Sarawak Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (LPKP)
Tuan Nor Azlan Ibrahim, Deputy Director of JPJ Sarawak
✅ Representatives from the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK)
Kuching Sentral Bus Terminal management

With these combined efforts, authorities aim to encourage compliance with road laws, foster a culture of safe driving, and promote tolerance among road users.

JPJ’s Commitment to Road Safety

JPJ Sarawak urges all road users to plan their journeys, obey traffic laws, and remain vigilant during this busy season. Let’s make this festive celebration safer for everyone! — JPJ Sarawak
