SIBU – As Ops Hari Raya Aidilfitri (HRA) 2026 draws to a close, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) Sarawak has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to road safety.

The department stressed that enforcement and monitoring will continue beyond the festive season, particularly in areas identified as accident-prone.

The department highlighted that the close cooperation demonstrated during Ops HRA reflects a shared responsibility in prioritising the safety and well-being of road users.

Gratitude was also extended to motorists who practised safe driving and cooperated with enforcement officers during the campaign.

JPJ noted that responsible behaviour on the road not only protects individuals but also contributes significantly to the safety of others.

Throughout the operation, JPJ officers carried out inspections and enforcement across Sarawak, targeting offences such as expired licences, lack of insurance, unsafe vehicle modifications, and failure to observe basic safety measures.

These actions were taken to ensure compliance with the law and to reduce accident risks during the festive travel period.

The department reiterated that every journey should end safely and that its enforcement teams will remain active in monitoring traffic conditions.

JPJ pledged to continue strengthening road safety culture in Sarawak, aligning with national objectives to reduce accident rates and fatalities.

Ops HRA 2026 has been part of JPJ’s broader initiative to protect lives during peak travel seasons. While the operation is concluding, the department assured the public that its vigilance will not diminish, with ongoing patrols and enforcement forming a permanent part of its strategy.

JPJ Sarawak’s message is clear: road safety remains a priority, and the department will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that every driver and passenger reaches their destination safely.
