SIBU – The Road Transport Department (JPJ) Sarawak conducted Technical Survey Ops No. 2/2026 on 5 February 2026 at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Sibu, to inspect commercial and private vehicles.
The offensive raid was led by YBrs. Tuan Norizan Jili, JPJ Sarawak Director, together with Tuan Jelapin Entalai, Head of the JPJ Sibu Branch, and Tuan Langie anak Nyareng, Head of the JPJ Stapang Enforcement Station. Their participation ensured the crackdown was carried out smoothly and in line with set standard operating procedures.
A combined total of 544 vehicles were inspected during the operation. Officers detected several offences, including driving without vocational licences, without valid driving licences, expired road tax, lack of insurance coverage, and other violations related to vehicle conditions.
JPJ Sarawak stressed that such enforcement operations are essential to ensure compliance with road laws and to safeguard the safety of all road users. The department reaffirmed that similar operations will continue to be carried out periodically to ensure drivers and vehicle owners adhere to regulations.
Officials said the findings underscore the need for continuous monitoring and enforcement to minimise risks on the road. By addressing issues such as expired documentation and technical faults, JPJ aims to prevent accidents and improve overall road safety standards in Sarawak.
The operation also demonstrated JPJ’s proactive engagement with communities across the state to ensure consistent and effective enforcement. With hundreds of vehicles checked in a single day, the initiative reflects the department’s commitment to upholding discipline and accountability among road users.
JPJ Sarawak has assured the public that enforcement activities will remain a key priority, in line with its mission to protect lives and promote responsible driving behaviour throughout Sarawak.
