SARIKEI – The Road Transport Department (JPJ) Sarikei Branch conducted a briefing and site visit session on 8 April 2026 to guide suppliers preparing quotations for the rental of photocopy machines and metre reading services. The exercise, held at the JPJ Sarikei Meeting Room, is part of a 24‑month service contract.
Three companies attended the session, where officials outlined the technical specifications, service scope, and documentation requirements.
The briefing highlighted the importance of adhering to both technical and financial compliance, with particular attention given to mandatory forms and common errors that suppliers should avoid.
The Procurement and Development Unit of JPJ Sarawak emphasised that the session was designed to help suppliers submit accurate and complete bid documents.
Officials noted that proper preparation would reduce the risk of disqualification and ensure smoother evaluation once the tender closes.
The deadline for submission has been set for 15 April 2026 at 12.00 noon. JPJ Sarawak reminded participants that late or incomplete entries would not be considered, underscoring the need for punctuality and precision in the tendering process.
Government procurement exercises such as this are part of broader efforts to ensure transparency and efficiency in public sector contracts.
By holding site visits and explanatory sessions, agencies aim to provide equal opportunities for suppliers while maintaining strict compliance with established procedures.
Photocopy machine rental and meter reading services are essential for daily operations in government offices, supporting administrative efficiency and record‑keeping.
Long‑term contracts, such as the one currently open for quotation, are intended to provide stability and cost‑effectiveness for both the department and service providers.
JPJ Sarawak expressed hope that the briefing would serve as a useful reference for suppliers, enabling them to prepare bids that meet all requirements.
The department reiterated its commitment to fair competition and transparent procurement practices, ensuring that public resources are managed responsibly.
The session reflects ongoing efforts by JPJ Sarawak to strengthen collaboration with local suppliers while also reinforcing accountability in government procurement.
