SARIKEI – The Sarikei Branch of the Road Transport Department (JPJ) conducted a briefing and site visit session on 7 April 2026 to guide companies interested in bidding for unarmed security control services. The contract will cover a period of 24 months.
The session attracted participation from 26 companies, each receiving detailed explanations on the service specifications, scope of work, and requirements for preparing bid documents.
Officials emphasised the importance of compliance with technical and financial documentation, as well as the proper completion of mandatory forms.
Attention was also drawn to common errors that bidders should avoid, ensuring that submissions meet the necessary standards. The briefing aimed to provide clarity and reduce mistakes that could disqualify proposals.
JPJ Sarawak highlighted that the initiative was designed to serve as a reference point for suppliers, enabling them to prepare accurate and complete submissions.
The department stressed that adherence to guidelines would help streamline the evaluation process and ensure fairness in awarding the contract.
The closing date for quotations has been set for 14 April 2026 (Tuesday) at 12.00 noon. Companies are expected to upload their documents before the deadline to be considered.
Procurement experts note that such sessions are increasingly common in government tenders, as they help suppliers understand expectations and improve transparency.
By providing clear instructions, agencies can encourage competitive bidding while maintaining accountability.
The briefing also reflects JPJ Sarawak’s commitment to strengthening procurement processes. With security services playing a vital role in safeguarding facilities, the department is keen to ensure that contractors are well-prepared to deliver reliable and compliant services.
The Secretariat of the Procurement and Development Unit at JPJ Sarawak expressed confidence that the session would assist suppliers in meeting requirements and contribute to a smoother tender process.
