Kampung Jabai Rings in 2026 with Unity-Focused New Year Celebration

BINTULU – The Kampung Jabai community ushered in the New Year with a spirited dinner event organised by the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) and the Kampung Jabai Neighbourhood Association (KRT).

The gathering, held at Kemena Plaza Hotel on Wednesday, highlighted the importance of unity and cooperation in strengthening local ties.

The ceremony was graced by Tanjong Batu State Assembly Member (ADUN) Ts. Johnny Pang Leong Ming and Village Head Johny Simon, alongside community leaders, JKKK and KRT members, and residents of Kampung Jabai.

In his address, Johnny Pang expressed gratitude to the organisers and villagers for their ongoing support in community development.

He noted that the visible progress in Kampung Jabai is the result of collective effort, mutual cooperation and shared commitment.

“All these achievements are not the result of the efforts of an individual, but rather a joint success as a result of the support and unity of all the villagers,” he said, underscoring the value of solidarity in driving positive change.

He pledged that as long as he serves as a representative of the people, his priorities will remain focused on enhancing community development, improving public facilities, ensuring safety and safeguarding the welfare of residents.

Johnny Pang also voiced his hopes that Bintulu would remain protected from disasters, particularly floods, which have posed challenges to communities in the past. His remarks reflected the broader concern for resilience and preparedness in the face of natural risks.

The event provided an opportunity for residents to strengthen bonds and celebrate shared achievements. It also served as a platform to reaffirm the commitment of local leaders to the wellbeing of the community.

In closing, Johnny Pang extended his New Year 2026 greetings, wishing prosperity and harmony for Kampung Jabai and its residents.

The lively atmosphere of the evening reflected the spirit of togetherness that continues to define the village’s progress.
