Kota Samarahan Police Arrests 2 in Crime Prevention Op

KOTA SAMARAHAN – Local authorities have stepped up efforts to curb criminal activity with a targeted overnight operation. The Kota Samarahan District Police Headquarters (IPD Kota Samarahan) conducted Op Bersepadu Cegah Jenayah from 10:00 pm on 7 August 2026 until 2:00 am the following day (8th of August).

The initiative involved 13 police officers and personnel, who established roadblocks along Jalan Stakan and increased patrols in known hotspots, including residential parks and villages across the district. During the operation, officers inspected 57 vehicles and screened 59 individuals.

Authorities issued 12 summonses for various traffic violations, such as expired road tax, driving without a valid licence, and improper/ expired registration plates. Additionally, two local men were arrested for offences under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, including drug possession and positive urine test results.

A spokesperson for Kota Samarahan IPD stated that the force remains committed to intensifying crime prevention measures across the district. Regular patrols and operations will continue to enhance police visibility, deter criminal behaviour, and uphold public safety and order in the community.

The operation underscores the ongoing dedication of local law enforcement to address both traffic and drug-related offences, ensuring a secure environment for residents.

Officials noted that maintaining a robust police presence in both residential and commercial areas serves as an effective deterrent against unlawful behaviour.

The community can expect further coordinated operations in the future as part of the ongoing commitment to preserving a secure and peaceful environment for all who reside in and around Kota Samarahan.

Residents have been urged to continue supporting the authorities by remaining alert and cooperative during such exercises. The police emphasised that public participation and timely reporting of suspicious activities greatly contribute to the overall effectiveness of crime prevention efforts in the district.
