Kuching Festival 2025 Returns with Food, Culture and Family Fun

MBKS confirms dates from 25 July to 17 August for this year’s biggest event

KUCHING, 1 May 2025 — The much-loved Kuching Festival is coming back this year from 25 July to 17 August 2025, and it promises to be the biggest one yet. Organised by the Kuching South City Council (MBKS), the festival will feature food, culture, music, and fun for all ages.

Every year, the festival brings together thousands of people — locals and tourists — to celebrate Kuching’s colourful traditions, creative talents, and community spirit.

Main Event: Kuching Festival Fair

The Kuching Festival Fair will take place at Dewan Masyarakat MBKS and includes:

  • Food Fair: Enjoy tasty food from all over Malaysia and beyond.
  • Trade Fair: Shop for local products, crafts, and services.
  • Night Entertainment: Watch live music, dance, and cultural shows every night.

Stalls Open for Application

Anyone who wants to run a food stall can now apply. The stall fees are:

  • Half Stall – RM650
  • Single Stall – RM1,300
  • International/Premium Stall – RM3,600
  • Double Stall – RM5,400 (by tender)

Application forms are available at Counter 8 and 9, MBKS Lobby from 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. daily.

  • Deadline for double stalls (tender): 14 May 2025 at 12.00 noon

Festival Events for Everyone

This year’s programme has something for everyone, including:

  • Garden Show (25 July–17 August) at Kuching Park – Beautiful flowers and garden displays.
  • Kuching Got Talent (8–9 August) – Singing, dancing, and performances by local talents.
  • Mayor’s Walk (10 August) – A fun walk to promote healthy living.
  • Zumba Fiesta (2 August) – Join a big Zumba dance session at Hockey Stadium.
  • Folk Dance & Martial Arts (10 & 8 August) – See cultural dances and martial arts like silat, wushu, and taekwondo.
  • Traditional Oriental Music (15 August) – Relax with traditional Chinese music.
  • International Friendship Cities Night (25–27 July) – Watch cultural shows from Kuching’s sister cities in China and Japan.
  • Fishing Competition (9 August) – A friendly fishing contest at Kuching Park.
  • Kuching Half Marathon (27 July) – Join the run through the scenic streets of Kuching.

MBKS hopes the festival will bring people together and show the best of Kuching’s culture, food, and energy. Everyone — young and old, locals and visitors — is welcome to join this exciting celebration.
