KUCHING – A special spiritual gathering enlivened the Metrocity Night Market on Friday evening, drawing a diverse crowd of Muslim attendees.
The Mahabbah Night Ceremony, held in conjunction with Maulidur Rasul celebrations, featured religious lectures, devotional recitations, and communal prayers.
The event was attended by several prominent figures, including Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Fadillah Yusof, who is also the Member of Parliament for Petra Jaya, and his wife Datin Sri Ruziah Mohd. Tahir.
Also, present was Dato Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, Chief Political Secretary to the Premier of Sarawak and Tupong State Assemblyman.
Guest speaker Dr. Hasfa Bakry Hassan delivered an introductory address, followed by heartfelt recitations of mawlid and qasidah by performers including Kyrel Al Gayauwi and the Muhibbin Sarawak Darul Hana group.
The spiritual highlight was a tazkirah by Habib Najmuddin, focusing on themes of love for the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and universal compassion.
Organized by Bayt El Mahabbah and MukhaBa in collaboration with local businesses, the ceremony aimed to foster ukhuwah (brotherhood) and deepen spiritual connections within the community through a dakwah-based approach.
