KUCHING: A minor accident occurred this morning when a woman driver accidentally crashed her vehicle into the side glass panel of a pharmacy at around 10.30 am.
According to witnesses at the scene, the driver was attempting to reverse into a parking space when she mistakenly stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake. This caused the car to suddenly surge forward and collide with the pharmacy’s glass wall.
Fortunately, the impact was not severe enough to shatter the entire glass structure, sparing the pharmacy from extensive damage. Customers and staff inside the premises were startled by the loud sound of the collision but no one else was harmed.
The driver sustained only minor injuries in the incident. Members of the public nearby quickly came to her aid before emergency responders arrived to ensure the situation was under control.
A shopkeeper who witnessed the incident said it happened very quickly. “She was trying to park the car properly, but suddenly the car moved forward and hit the glass panel. Luckily, the damage was not too bad,” he explained.
Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene to assess the situation and to make sure the premises remained safe for business operations. The driver later received medical attention and was reported to be in stable condition.
This accident highlights the importance of careful attention while driving in busy commercial areas. Authorities continue to remind motorists to practice caution, especially when maneuvering vehicles in tight spaces such as shopfront parking areas.
The pharmacy resumed normal operations shortly after the situation was cleared, with only minor repairs required to the affected glass panel.
