“Upon arrival, our personnel found that the female driver was not trapped inside her car. However, she suffered injuries to her left knee as well as cuts on her fingers due to the impact of the collision,” Ramlan said in a statement.

He added that the Hilux driver and passengers were unharmed in the incident.

The rescue team provided immediate first aid to the victim by applying a neck brace before carefully removing her from the vehicle. She was then transported to Lawas Hospital using the Emergency Medical Rescue Service (EMRS) vehicle for further medical treatment.

Ramlan explained that once the rescue and medical assistance were completed, firefighters conducted road clearance to remove accident debris. This was to ensure the road was safe and traffic flow could resume smoothly.

The cause of the collision has yet to be confirmed, and further investigations are expected to be carried out by the relevant authorities.

Road accidents remain a concern in Sarawak, particularly in areas with high vehicle activity such as near airports. Authorities continue to remind drivers to be cautious, adhere to traffic rules, and ensure their vehicles are in good condition before travelling.
