LIMBANG – A total of 400 packs of peanut porridge were distributed to road users and residents during the Muhibbah Peanut Porridge Distribution Programme held in Limbang on 15 March 2026.
The initiative was officiated by Datuk Hasbi Habibollah, Deputy Minister of Transport of Malaysia, who personally joined in handing out the porridge to members of the public.
The programme was organised by the Kampung Bunga Raya Healthy Aerobics Club, which has made the distribution an annual tradition during Ramadan.
Datuk Hasbi praised the effort, describing it as a noble act that reflects the spirit of cooperation and community service.
He noted that the preparation and packaging of the porridge were carried out collectively by club members, showcasing teamwork and dedication.
He added that such activities not only enrich the appreciation of Ramadan but also strengthen bonds of friendship among club members and the wider community.
The programme, he said, provides an opportunity to reach out to people from diverse backgrounds, reinforcing the values of togetherness and compassion that are central to the holy month.
Residents welcomed the initiative, highlighting that the distribution of porridge has become a familiar and cherished tradition in Limbang.
The event also served as a reminder of the importance of sharing and caring for others, particularly during Ramadan when acts of kindness are encouraged.
The Kampung Bunga Raya Healthy Aerobics Club expressed its commitment to continuing the programme in future years, ensuring that the tradition remains a meaningful part of the district’s Ramadan activities.
