Lorong Song 1 Residents Speak Up A Call for Better Park Facilities

Lorong Song 1 Residents Speak Up: A Call for Better Park Facilities

KUCHING, 8 March 2025 – Residents of Lorong Song 1 have voiced their concerns about the state of their community park, hoping for much-needed improvements. Despite an upgrade to the walking paths three years ago, the park still faces major issues, making it far from the ideal recreational space it should be.

Unresolved Issues Affecting Residents

One of the most pressing problems is water pooling on the playground. Every time it rains, the area becomes muddy and unusable, preventing children from playing safely. At night, the park is shrouded in darkness due to a lack of proper lighting, raising safety concerns among residents. On top of that, the overwhelming presence of mosquitoes further discourages people from spending time outdoors.

Community Leaders Step In

Today, Sih Hua Tong visited Lorong Song 1 to meet with residents and listen to their grievances. Understanding the community’s struggles, he arranged for City Councilor Mok Chuang Ping and local leader Kapitan Chai Ming Jing to join the discussion, seeking practical solutions to improve the park’s condition.

A Hope for Change

With collective efforts from all parties, residents are hopeful that real improvements will take place. Better drainage systems, proper lighting, and mosquito control measures are among the key changes they wish to see. If addressed, these improvements will create a safer and more comfortable environment for everyone in the area.

The voices of Lorong Song 1 residents have been heard, and now they await action. Will the authorities step up to make a difference? Only time will tell.
