“The accident happened when a pickup truck, driven by a 49-year-old local man, had stopped at the red light at the Jalan Tun Zaidi Adruce traffic light intersection. The lorry driven by the victim crashed into the back of the pickup truck,” he explained.

Initial investigations suggest that the victim may have suffered a heart attack while driving, leading to the crash. The victim was found lying unconscious in the lorry and was declared dead at the scene by medical responders.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the accident.

Police have classified the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving causing death. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

The tragic incident serves as a reminder for all road users to be mindful of their health and take necessary precautions, especially for those in demanding professions like lorry driving.

Authorities urge drivers experiencing health issues to seek medical attention and avoid driving to prevent accidents.

The public is advised to cooperate with the police and report any information that may help in the investigation.
