LUBOK ANTU – The inaugural Lubok Antu Christmas Parade 2025 drew an impressive turnout, with more than 2,000 participants from 49 contingents representing various church denominations and local communities.
The event, organised by the Lubok Antu District Council (MDLA), was marked by vibrant displays of unity and festive spirit.
It also received the special participation of Sarawak Deputy Minister of International Trade, Industry and Investment, Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh, who is also the Batang Ai Assemblyman (ADUN).
Datuk Dr Malcolm highlighted the parade’s role in strengthening harmony and fostering togetherness among Christians in the district.
“This is a space to show the values of love, hope and peace ahead of the Christmas celebration and is a form of religious expression that builds a community with a pure identity,” he said after the parade.
He added that the successful organisation of the event reflects the district’s strong tradition of religious harmony and community cooperation.
The parade, he noted, is not only a celebration of Christmas but also a symbol of unity that resonates across different walks of life.
The MDLA has announced that the parade will become an annual event, designed to unite the community through the spirit of Christmas, while promoting values of love, hope, and peace.
The parade was attended by several dignitaries, including Lubok Antu District Officer Akoi Ejau, Political Secretary to the Prime Minister II Mikai Mandau, Political Secretary to the Premier of Sarawak Roseline Neging, and Batang Ai HEP Station Manager David Gunda, alongside other honoured guests.
The debut of the Lubok Antu Christmas Parade underscores the district’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and cultural celebration.
Organisers hope the event will grow into a signature tradition, attracting more participants and visitors in the years ahead.
