SIBU, March 29 – A man narrowly escaped serious injuries after the Perodua Viva he was riding in lost control and skidded into a ditch in Jalan Salim Stabau earlier today.

According to Sibu Zone 4 Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) chief Andy Alie, his team received an emergency call regarding the accident at 3.03 PM. A team from Sibu Sentral Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) was immediately dispatched to the scene.

<strong>Car Loses Control, Ends Up in a Ditch</strong>

Upon arrival, rescue personnel found the Perodua Viva resting in a roadside ditch. Fortunately, the victim had already been pulled out by members of the public before emergency responders arrived.

“The fire brigade found that the vehicle had lost control before skidding into the ditch. However, the victim was not trapped and was successfully rescued by bystanders,” Andy Alie said in a statement.

<strong>Victim Complains of Chest and Neck Pain</strong>

Although he was safely removed from the vehicle, the man reportedly experienced chest and neck pain following the accident.

“The operation commander on duty conducted an initial assessment before instructing the Emergency Medical Response Service (EMRS) team to provide first aid to the victim,” he added.

Following the initial treatment, the victim was rushed to Sibu Hospital for further medical attention.
