BAU – The Bau District Council held a heartfelt retirement ceremony to honour Madam Rose Neber Bira, Administrative Assistant N2, who concluded her distinguished service on 15 April 2026 after nearly four decades of dedication.
Madam Rose began her career on 1 August 1986, serving with commitment and integrity until her retirement. The ceremony, filled with emotion and colour, was attended by council members and colleagues who gathered to celebrate her contributions.
The event opened with a welcome speech by Bau District Council Secretary, Mr Ong Chin Ping, who expressed deep appreciation for Madam Rose’s loyalty and teamwork spirit. He described her departure as a significant loss to the council but wished her a fulfilling new chapter in life.
“The loyalty and services left behind will always be an inspiration for us who are still continuing the struggle here,” he said.
The highlight of the ceremony was Madam Rose’s final speech, delivered with heartfelt emotion. She recalled fond memories from her long service and urged staff to maintain unity and continue providing the best service to the Bau community. She also expressed gratitude to her colleagues, whom she described as her “second family”.
Council members collectively conveyed their appreciation: “Happy retirement, Madam Rose! Thank you for all your guidance and dedication as Administrative Assistant N2 from 1986 to 2026. May you always be blessed and happy with your beloved family.”
The ceremony concluded with a poetic tribute:

The event reflected the council’s respect and admiration for Madam Rose’s long-standing service, ensuring her legacy remains an inspiration for future generations of staff.
