Malaysia to Join Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0 for Gaza Aid

PUTRAJAYA – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today announced Malaysia’s direct participation in the Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0 (GSF 2.0), a major humanitarian mission to Gaza involving more than 80 countries.

The Prime Minister received a courtesy call from Dato’ Sani Araby, Director General of the Sumud Nusantara Command Centre (SNCC) and Head of Humanitarian Activist of MAPIM, alongside Mr. Nadir Al-Nuri, Founder of Sumud Nusantara, at Perdana Putra.

During the meeting, Anwar was briefed on the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where the blockade continues to prevent essential aid from reaching civilians. Reports highlight that the prolonged restrictions have left Palestinians facing severe shortages of food, medicine, and basic supplies.

Sani and Nadir also shared the achievements of the earlier Sumud Nusantara Mission, which succeeded in amplifying Gaza’s plight on the international stage. They emphasised that the upcoming flotilla would build on this momentum, aiming to break the silence and intensify global pressure against the blockade.

The Prime Minister stated that the MADANI Government would fully support the mission, describing it as part of a broader moral struggle that transcends borders, race, and religion.

“We will mobilise all our efforts to help and defend the rights of the Palestinian people. This justice can no longer be delayed, for the sake of a dignified and independent Palestine,” Anwar said.

The Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0 is expected to set sail mid-year, with participation from civil society groups, humanitarian organisations, and volunteers worldwide. The mission will not only deliver aid but also symbolise international solidarity with Palestinians enduring hardship under the blockade.

Observers note that Malaysia’s involvement underscores its longstanding support for Palestine and its active role in humanitarian diplomacy. The flotilla is seen as a continuation of Malaysia’s efforts to champion justice and human rights on the global stage.

The initiative will include doctors, aid workers, and activists from across continents, reflecting a united stand against oppression. Organisers have stressed that the mission is not merely symbolic but a practical effort to deliver life-saving assistance and highlight the urgency of ending the blockade.

As preparations intensify, Malaysia’s participation signals a renewed determination to ensure that humanitarian principles are upheld and that the voices of Gaza’s people are heard internationally.
