KUCHING – The Mayor of Kuching South City Council (MBKS), Dato Wee Hong Seng, joined residents at the Song Qing Hai Hawker Centre for a Chinese New Year celebration on Wednesday evening.
The event was jointly organised by MBKS and the JKKK Kuching Matis/ Padungan North/ Cat’s Eye Hill Urban and Rural Development and Security Committee.
As guest of honour, Dato Wee highlighted the importance of community spirit during festive occasions. He noted that hawker centres are more than just places for food, describing them as symbols of unity and cohesion where people from diverse backgrounds come together.
The gathering was marked by a lively and warm atmosphere, with attendees enjoying the festive cheer and camaraderie.
