Miri Chinese Kindergarten Gets RM50,000 RTP Project for Safer Playground

Miri Chinese Kindergarten Gets RM50,000 RTP Project for Safer Playground

MIRI – Children at Miri Chinese Kindergarten will soon benefit from safer and more comfortable playground facilities following the launch of a RM50,000 upgrade project under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP).

The project was formally handed over in a brief ceremony on Tuesday, with the Public Works Department (JKR) named as the implementing agency and the Krokop 1–5 Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) as the recipient.

The event was witnessed by Miri City Mayor and Pujut Assemblyman (ADUN) Adam Yii Siew Sang, alongside the kindergarten’s management team.

Scheduled to run from 17 September 2025 to 16 March 2026, the initiative will include expanding the play area, resurfacing floors, and installing a protective roof.

The upgrades are intended to provide children with a safer environment while ensuring outdoor activities can continue without being affected by rain or strong sun.

Yii noted that the project reflects continued efforts to enhance the learning and recreational setting for Miri’s younger generation.

Local leaders and the community view the initiative as an investment in children’s wellbeing, allowing them to enjoy a conducive environment for growth and early education.

The kindergarten’s management expressed gratitude for the support, emphasising that the improvements will create long-term benefits by giving students more opportunities to play, learn, and interact in a safe and weather-friendly space.
