He was later handed over to the police, who referred him to a hospital for medical care and observation. Authorities have yet to record a statement from him regarding the incident.

The Kapit Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received a report about Henry’s disappearance on Monday at 1pm when he failed to return to Suau Camp. Following this, a SAR operation was launched, involving multiple agencies including Bomba, the Civil Defence Force, police, Suau Camp workers, and Henry’s relatives.

To intensify the search efforts, Bomba’s K9 dog unit was also deployed. Despite challenging conditions in the dense jungle terrain, the collaborative efforts of the SAR team and the local community resulted in Henry’s safe recovery.

Henry’s disappearance had sparked concern among his colleagues and loved ones, with many fearing for his safety given the harsh jungle environment and potential wildlife encounters. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safety precautions for those working in remote areas.

The authorities will continue investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding his disappearance and how he ended up at Rumah Kancin.

This story highlights the resilience of community spirit in times of distress and the vital role played by coordinated SAR operations.
