In the statement released on May 6, 2026, the management of New Mita Cake House Sdn Bhd explained that the suspension followed an incident involving a staff member who brought an unopened cider mixed with a lemon-flavoured beverage into the premises. The company described the act as irresponsible and clarified that the incident involved a canned carbonated drink containing low alcohol by volume (ABV).
