KUCHING (May 15): Tragedy struck in Kota Padawan as a motorcyclist succumbed to injuries sustained in a collision with a car, tragically ending his life at the Sarawak General Hospital today.

Padawan police chief, Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Radzi, confirmed the demise of the 37-year-old male victim, who suffered severe head and body injuries, at 8.50 am.

Details of the Incident

The incident occurred yesterday evening at Mile 10 Jalan Kuching-Serian when the victim’s motorcycle lost control and collided with the rear of a car waiting for a change in traffic lights.

“The victim was thrown from his motorcycle upon impact, resulting in grave injuries to his head and body,” stated Mohd Irwan.

According to the police chief, the accident transpired at 6.15 pm while the victim was en route to Serian.

Investigation Underway

The case is currently under investigation pursuant to Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

In light of this tragic event, authorities urge all road users to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations to prevent further accidents.
