MPKS Launches Ramadan Bazaar in Asajaya and Tambirat

ASAJAYA – The Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) officially opened its Ramadan Bazaar programme with ceremonies held at the Asajaya Market Ramadan Bazaar and the Tambirat Hawker Centre on Saturday.

The event was officiated by YB Dato Sri Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts, Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development, and Assemblyman for N15 Asajaya.

During the ceremony, Dato Sri Abdul Karim carried out a walkabout session, greeting traders and visitors while observing the festive business atmosphere. A symbolic presentation of dates was also made to traders, serving as encouragement and recognition of their role in supporting local entrepreneurship.

The Ramadan Bazaar initiative is designed to enliven the festive season while strengthening ties between local authorities, traders, and the wider community. It also provides an important platform for boosting economic activity, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises in Asajaya and surrounding areas.

The ceremony was attended by several key figures, including Kr. Haji Abang Ismawi bin Abang Ali, Municipal Chairman; Rais bin Ahmat, Deputy Resident of Samarahan Division; Jerry bin Zainuddin, Asajaya District Officer; Kr Daily anak Joseph, Deputy Chairman of MPKS; and En. Gustian bin Haji Durani, Municipal Secretary.

The event concluded with a photo session and friendly interactions between officials, traders, and visitors, reinforcing the spirit of togetherness that defines Ramadan.
