BAU – Members of the Mobile Patrol Vehicle (MPV) Unit took a proactive approach to community engagement during routine patrols in Kampung Atas and Kampung Stenggang, where they stopped to interact with a group of youths gathered by the roadside.
The officers used the opportunity to deliver friendly advice and reminders about road safety, emphasising the importance of responsible behaviour both on and off the road.
Their guidance included practical safety measures such as wearing helmets when riding motorcycles, ensuring possession of a valid driving licence, and adhering to established traffic regulations.
In addition, the MPV team warned against involvement in illegal racing activities, highlighting the risks posed not only to participants but also to other road users.
The officers also stressed the need to prioritise personal safety and to remain mindful of the wellbeing of the wider community.
Beyond road safety, the youths were reminded to avoid criminal activities, including drug abuse and trafficking, which can have long-term consequences for individuals and society.
The officers encouraged them to make positive choices that contribute to a safer and healthier future.
The initiative reflects the MPV Unit’s commitment to fostering trust and cooperation between law enforcement and the community.
By adopting a friendly and approachable manner, the officers aimed to strengthen relationships with young people while reinforcing the shared responsibility of maintaining public safety.
Authorities continue to emphasise that safety is a collective effort, urging residents to stay away from negative influences and to focus on building constructive futures.
The MPV Unit’s engagement in Bau demonstrates how community policing can play a vital role in guiding youths towards responsible behaviour and preventing potential risks.
