According to sources, a family member of the deceased had a dream in which the late individual requested a mobile phone to be placed on the grave so they could “contact friends.” Taking the dream seriously, the family member followed through with the unusual request.

The Cemetery Committee Chairman, who chose to remain anonymous, reminded the public not to place unrelated objects on graves. He emphasised that such actions are not encouraged and could lead to misunderstandings.

“Our committee organises cemetery cleaning four times a year, and we always find unexpected items left by visitors,” he said.

This incident has sparked curiosity and debate among the local community, with some viewing it as a touching act of remembrance and others questioning the practice. Regardless, it serves as a reminder of the deep cultural beliefs some Malaysians hold regarding the connection between the living and the departed.
