PADAWAN – The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), in collaboration with ASEZ WAO and KRT Taman Ling Ling, organised a tree planting programme on Sunday, 26 April 2026, at Taman Ling Ling.
The initiative formed part of the council’s Taman Angkat Campaign under the Healthy City Initiatives, aimed at promoting environmental awareness and fostering a cleaner, greener community.
The programme highlighted the importance of conservation and sustainable living, encouraging residents to take an active role in protecting the environment.
ASEZ WAO contributed saplings for the event, reinforcing its commitment to supporting local efforts in ecological preservation.
The event was attended by several dignitaries and community leaders, including Cr Mahmud Bin Dato’ Sri Haji Ibrahim, Deputy Chairman of MPP; Mr Steven Kwom, Chairman of ASEZ WAO; Encik Abdul Aziz, Chairman of KRT Taman Ling Ling; Cr Norolhadi Dolla Sabari, Chairman of the MPP Building and Landscape Control Standing Committee; and Ir Ts Goh Thiam Ho, MPP Municipal Secretary. Council members, staff, and ASEZ WAO volunteers also joined in the planting activities.
Participants worked together to plant saplings across designated areas, symbolising collective responsibility in building a healthier and more sustainable city.
The initiative not only contributed to the beautification of Taman Ling Ling but also served as a practical step towards improving air quality and enhancing biodiversity in the area.
The campaign reflects MPP’s broader vision of integrating environmental stewardship into urban development.
By engaging local communities, the council aims to instil civic pride and encourage long-term participation in green initiatives.
The tree planting programme concluded with expressions of gratitude to ASEZ WAO for its generous donation of saplings and to all volunteers who contributed their time and effort.
