KUCHING – The Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri celebration in Pantai Damai brought together residents in a vibrant display of unity and friendship.

The gathering was designed to foster closer ties among residents while celebrating the spirit of Syawal. Organisers highlighted that such programmes are not only festive occasions but also opportunities to instil values of consensus, mutual respect, and community harmony.
Datuk Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri’s attendance underscored the importance of grassroots initiatives in strengthening social bonds. Her presence reflected the government’s support for community-driven efforts that encourage inclusivity and togetherness.
The celebration was marked by cultural performances, shared meals, and lively interactions, all of which contributed to a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The Syawal Friendship Network in Pantai Damai continues to flourish, with residents embracing the values of unity and cooperation. Organisers noted that the KJM initiative has become a cornerstone in building a more caring and prosperous community.
By encouraging participation across different groups, the programme demonstrates how neighbourhoods can thrive when guided by the principles of Aidilfitri, which emphasise forgiveness, love, and solidarity.
Also present were Encik Adzim Adzmi bin Abdul Rahman, DBKU Council Member, and Mr Ramli bin Omar, Head of Community Development and Services Division.
Their involvement highlighted the role of Dewan Bandaraya Kuching Utara (DBKU) in supporting community development and ensuring that local programmes align with the broader vision of a harmonious city.

By combining cultural traditions with modern community-building efforts, Pantai Damai is setting an example of how neighbourhoods can remain resilient and united in the face of change.
