PETRONAS Brings Festive Cheer, Boosts Facilities at Bintulu Hospital

BINTULU – The festive spirit reached patients and visitors at Bintulu Hospital through the PETRONAS ‘Memacu Kehidupan’ Christmas 2025 programme, which combined seasonal cheer with meaningful contributions to enhance hospital facilities.

The initiative, held on Friday, saw the donation of 125 heavy-duty stainless steel chairs, eight smart televisions, and 350 Christmas gift packs.

Organised in collaboration between PETRONAS, its subsidiary Malaysia LNG Sdn Bhd, and Hospital Bintulu, the programme aimed to improve patient comfort while uplifting the festive atmosphere.

Special Officer Steven Kong Kai Seng, representing Bintulu Member of Parliament Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, attended the event alongside Hospital Bintulu Director Dr Suzalinna Sulaiman and senior representatives from PETRONAS and partner companies.

Senior General Manager of Malaysia LNG Sdn Bhd, Encik Abang Jimmy Abang Mordian, said the Memacu Kehidupan initiative reflects PETRONAS’ long-term commitment to community wellbeing through sustainable socio-economic development and holistic health interventions.

“Hospital Bintulu plays a vital role not only for residents here but also for surrounding areas such as Belaga and Mukah. On average, about 200 visitors come daily to seek treatment, making comfort and accessibility key priorities,” he explained.

He added that the donated chairs would be distributed across specialist clinics, wards, day care centres, x-ray units and the emergency department.

The smart televisions, meanwhile, will be used for health briefings, patient education and staff training programmes.

In addition to infrastructure support, 350 Christmas gift packs were handed out to patients and visitors, bringing warmth and joy to those spending the festive season in hospital.

This year’s programme in Sarawak reached 800 beneficiaries across Balai Ringin, Lawas, Lambir, Long Lama and Bintulu.

PETRONAS highlighted that the initiative continues to serve as a platform for delivering long-term positive impact through community development, healthcare support and improved quality of life across Malaysia.

The collaboration also builds on PETRONAS’ longstanding partnership with Bintulu Hospital, which has previously included contributions such as medical equipment, a fire unit facility and laptop donations, underscoring a sustained commitment to supporting frontline healthcare services.
