LANGKAWI – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim arrived in Langkawi, Kedah on Saturday to attend a series of programmes aimed at strengthening the Government’s relationship with the people and ensuring that policies remain centred on their needs.
During the visit, the Prime Minister conducted a survey at Kuah Jetty, observing the quality of services provided and engaging directly with users to hear their views and concerns.
He emphasised that Kuah Jetty plays a vital role as the main gateway to Langkawi, facilitating the movement of residents and tourists while supporting local economic activities.
Anwar stressed that the MADANI Government is committed to enhancing public facilities across the country, ensuring they meet standards of comfort, safety and efficiency.
“Public facilities like this must continue to be strengthened for the interests of the people as a whole,” he said.
Kuah Jetty, a key entry point for visitors arriving by sea, has long been recognised as an essential hub for tourism and commerce in Langkawi.
The Prime Minister’s inspection reflects the Government’s broader strategy to improve infrastructure that directly impacts communities and economic growth.
Observers note that the visit underscores the administration’s focus on inclusive development, where facilities are not only upgraded for convenience but also aligned with long-term goals of sustainability and social responsibility.
The Prime Minister’s engagements in Langkawi form part of ongoing efforts to ensure that national initiatives under the MADANI framework remain people-focused, balancing economic progress with community welfare.
