LIKAS – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged Sabah voters to support candidates who prioritise fair development and unity, stressing that the MADANI Government is committed to delivering tangible improvements rather than political rhetoric.
Speaking at a public meeting with Pakatan Harapan candidates in Likas, Anwar emphasised that Sabah deserves equitable growth and that its rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) must be respected and implemented.
He warned against reducing MA63 to a slogan during election seasons, insisting that the government’s stance is firm and focused on fulfilment.
The Prime Minister highlighted that long-delayed issues are now being accelerated under his administration.
These include improvements to electricity supply, the construction of road networks, and solutions to recurring water shortages that have burdened communities for years.
“I did not come with empty promises,” Anwar said, stressing that the MADANI Government is strengthening governance, closing loopholes, and ensuring that every allocation reaches the people of Sabah.
He added that accountability and transparency are central to ensuring development benefits ordinary citizens.
Anwar also underscored the importance of synergy between the Federal and State Governments, calling for strong, honest, and respectful cooperation.
He explained that such collaboration is essential to guarantee that the results of development return to the majority of Sabahans rather than being lost in bureaucracy or inefficiency.
The Prime Minister urged the people of Sabah to rise together, reject divisive politics, and provide space for Pakatan Harapan candidates to work collectively in defending rights and advancing progress.
He described the coalition’s agenda as one that seeks to elevate Sabah to a more advanced, inclusive, and dignified level.
Observers note that Anwar’s remarks reflect the broader MADANI framework, which focuses on sustainable development, social justice, and equitable distribution of resources.
His emphasis on governance and delivery highlights the administration’s determination to ensure that promises translate into real outcomes for Sabah’s communities.
As the state election approaches, Anwar’s message in Likas reinforces the government’s call for unity and practical solutions, positioning Pakatan Harapan candidates as partners in building a prosperous and respected Sabah.
