KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim received a courtesy visit from Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah, former Deputy Prime Minister and former Foreign Minister of Qatar, as part of ongoing efforts to deepen Malaysia-Qatar relations.
During the meeting, both leaders exchanged views on current global and regional issues, while exploring opportunities to strengthen strategic cooperation between the two nations.
Discussions also focused on enhancing investment collaboration, with the aim of delivering mutual benefits for Malaysia and Qatar.
The courtesy call reflects the continued commitment of both countries to reinforce bilateral ties, particularly in areas of economic development, trade, and strategic partnerships.
Malaysia and Qatar have long maintained strong diplomatic relations, with cooperation spanning energy, infrastructure, education, and investment sectors.
Prime Minister Anwar emphasised that Malaysia values Qatar as a key partner in the Middle East, noting that closer collaboration will contribute to shared prosperity and stability.
The meeting also highlighted Malaysia’s readiness to expand its role in fostering stronger regional and international partnerships.
