Pro-DR Roadshow Empowers Rural Youth in Limbang with Skills and Opportunity

Pro-DR Roadshow Empowers Rural Youth in Limbang with Skills and Opportunity

LIMBANG – The “Project of Dream Realized” (Pro-DR) roadshow continues to serve as a powerful and strategic platform for nurturing the future of rural youth in Sarawak, providing vital exposure to education pathways, skills training, and career prospects that align with current industry demands.

The 10th series of the Pro-DR 2025 tour was officially launched at Purnama Hotel, Limbang, on Friday by Batu Danau Assemblyman, Dato Paulus Palu Gumbang. He praised the organisers’ decision to include Limbang as one of the key stops in the nationwide programme, recognising the district’s crucial role in developing Sarawak’s future workforce.

“This programme is very significant because it opens up a space of information and inspiration for rural students and youth who may previously have lacked exposure to available opportunities,” he said during the event.

Dato Paulus emphasised that Pro-DR supports Sarawak’s broader goal of becoming a developed state by 2030. The initiative helps prepare a generation of digitally savvy, highly skilled, and competitive youth capable of meeting modern global challenges.

He stressed the importance of equipping young people with skills in automation, artificial intelligence (AI), drone technology, e-commerce, and cashless systems—fields that are becoming increasingly essential in the digital era.

“The Sarawak Government remains committed to developing a skilled workforce through initiatives like SCORE, TVET, the strengthening of English language proficiency, and now the advancement of the digital economy,” he said.

The event also featured a ceremony recognising key programme partners and contributors, and marked the official inauguration of the Pro-DR 10th Series for the Limbang District.

With platforms like Pro-DR, rural youth are being empowered not only with knowledge, but also with the confidence and capability to contribute meaningfully to Sarawak’s development journey.
