Upon arrival, firefighters were faced with a challenging route to the site. The narrow, uneven and hilly terrain prevented their fire engines from reaching the tower. However, showing quick thinking, the team utilised a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle belonging to the telecommunications company to navigate the difficult path.

“Upon arriving at the location, the fire brigade found a fire in the tower structure,” the PGO reported.

Despite the obstacles, the team managed to control and put out the fire using just two fire extinguishers – an impressive feat that highlights their preparedness and training. The flames were successfully subdued in under an hour.

The operation was officially concluded by 4.07pm.
