Ramadan Spirit Shared with Bintangor Residents Through Food Distribution

BINTANGOR – Residents of Kampung Malaysia Bintangor gathered for a community programme during Ramadan, where 180 containers of lambuk porridge and 90 containers of dates were distributed to locals.

The event took place at Rumah Bolhasan on Saturday and was organised by the Neighbourhood Council (KRT) Area Committee with help from volunteers.

Residents worked together to prepare the lambuk porridge through a gotong-royong effort. The dish holds strong ties with Ramadan traditions across Malaysia. Dates were also handed out to complement the breaking of fast.

Meradong State Assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing said programmes like this strengthen ties between leaders and residents. He pointed out the strong participation from the community, which reflects cooperation among the multi-racial and multi-religious population in Bintangor.

“Programmes like this bring joy to residents and strengthen togetherness, mutual support, and unity within the community. They also give community leaders a chance to meet residents directly and hear their views and needs,” he said.

The gathering created a welcoming atmosphere as residents shared food and spent time together. Datuk Ding thanked the KRT Kampung Malaysia Bintangor committee members and volunteers for their effort in making the programme run smoothly.

He urged the community to continue similar initiatives in the future. Activities led by residents not only provide practical support but also strengthen harmony and respect among people from different backgrounds.

The distribution of lambuk porridge and dates follows a long-standing Ramadan practice in Malaysia, where communities cook and share food with neighbours and those in need. In Bintangor, the activity stands as a symbol of solidarity and cultural tradition.

By bringing residents together, the programme offered more than food. It created space for conversation, cooperation, and shared celebration during the holy month. For many in the village, the event served as a reminder that Ramadan carries a strong message of compassion and community spirit.
